Well, the title says it all. Been a while since I wrote anything and if you go by the notion and concept of this blog, it almost appears like it's been a while since I even thought anything.

The winters had set in and perhaps my mind like my fingers got numb. Much has already happened since the last I jotted down something on keeping the flame alive. To begin with, the flame did die after all (as expected).

Over a month has passed and the government procedure of handing out the evidence, evoking the international community and reaching a conclusion is still not over. Pakistan as usual continues to mock the political machinery and the administrative system of the country and who knows, might be bracing its troops for another attack. President Zardari holds his stand of issuing official statements about the inconclusive evidence handed out by New Delhi and of course maintains that Ajmal Kasav, the captured terrorist from the Mumbai blast is NOT a Pakistani national. Oh yes, Mr. Zardari we truly believe every word you quote. We, Indians are known to be the greatest fools who ever existed on the face of this Earth. Had we been little intelligent we would have wiped out all our problem in 1971 itself.

file_Ramalinga Raju01s55m1506232008Anyway, on other side, we have the biggest scam of the century as a New Year present. Mr. Ramalinga Raju, incidentally the CEO of Satyam Computers - a company which heralded the onset of IT revolution in India, siphoned off its investors a sum of 10,000 crore rupees. No 'White Tigers' there - just a slimy shark. I really wonder at times who should the nation counter first, the vultures outside or the termites inside?

Well, if that is not a perfect start, add to this cauldron the strike of truckers and officers of all oil companies who held the country at ransom for (thankfully) two days (only). However within a span of few hours, the northern part of the country and NCR specially was brought to its knees with mile long queues at the filling stations leading to painful traffic jams.

Thus, arrives the new year. Year 2009, year of lost hopes and down trodden stock markets already. If we as people of the largest democracy in the world be able to pull our socks and do justice to the days ahead is yet to be seen.

I personally am making no new resolutions. Or maybe one, that I shall strive to keep my thoughts flowing, keep up with the times and try and be alive and keep thinking.. (and maybe get a few more posts on this blog and maybe a few more readers too.)ist2_5349409-smiley-face-button

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009, all the same.
