LabyrinthThe inner core of our beings is a labyrinth. The entry is always restricted and meant only for a selected, deserving few. Who you allow in this infinite wilderness, is what you stand for.  What you sow in this field is what you have earned from your experience and what you reap, is for others to devour and judge you for.

Irrespective of what people like to believe, it’s a fact that occupancy of this core is never exclusive. It may house a single person at a time but the chances of it being home to only one forever, is never true. However, the core doesn’t discriminate on gender, age or a specific relationship and is thus amicable for inherently different people to coexist and thrive.

We are all free in this labyrinth and yet inmates of these same walls we build. Our prejudices hold us to ransom and we often falter and dish out our trust easily and to undeserving. The walls of this maze are made up of the clouds we walked on and the sunshine we soaked in. There is no way one can force through it without tearing it apart.

You could have ruled this if you tried, but your conceit got better of you and you now stand shut out and outside this inner sanctum. You torched the bridge and the falling flames lit the boats too. The water now boils and you can’t wade through it as you did before.

This labyrinth is the nucleus of one’s sanity and is a vulnerable place. Most often we live our whole lives as an alter ego than our true selves. We are governed and manipulated by how people like to see and think of us than accepting us for who we truly are. When you let someone inside this inner sanctuary, you allow them to see your bare soul. This can be like exposing yourself to bliss of perennial sunshine or subjecting your cells to a cancer that can never be cured.

For now, I sit and wait for the repercussions of having allowed you inside once and letting you see the chinks in my armor. We are chained to the same pillar, the fate allows you a spear and leaves me with an open chest. However, I take heart in my defeat and will look you in the eye when you choose to strike. You may want to use all your might, gouge out the heart and shred it to bits. Dissever it as you please and serve it as per your fancy. Do all you can, but even as you rejoice your victory, I promise you that there is no way you can find your way back in.
