superman_emblemNo, I am not casting anyone to replace Brandon Ruth in the next sequel of Superman series. Just that I have always been fascinated by the cape wonder and my thoughts went out to this Marvel Action star when the original series was being aired recently on TV and as usual I led my mind dwell on the topic for so long that it resulted in this post.

Though this man in blue and red and underpants on top of the tights may have aspired many a young minds to tie a towel around their necks (yeah I mean, like a cape) and run about in the household simulating his flight, often amusing and at other times tormenting their mothers, I guess it also has instigated imagination of everyone alike.

So, no matter which age group do you fall in, people have always wanted to have that super strength, be faster than a speeding bullet, fly high and so on, in short be invincible. In fact who would not want to be a Superman specially in these times of financial insecurities, cutthroat competition and fierce demands of the day to day life when it becomes even difficult to remember when did you last do something which you enjoy?

Anyway, I guess everyone who wants these superpowers has his/her own reasons. You may want to thrash your boss with your super strength, memorize those hard looking equations with that photographic memory, fly over those speed barriers and traffic snarls on your way to work or may simply want to escape the daily beatings of this life and spend some time in space, I am not ruling out carrying your loved one in your arms and flying over the space (as in Superman I or maybe it was II, hardly matters).

Superman But then let me ask, do you think Superman is actually super? Well, my argument is that he is not super because he has those powers, Superman is super because he chose to live in a planet where the form of life was way inferior than him. (Remember he came from Krypton) He probably would have lived like just another normal being had he continued to live on his own planet. The Superman movie - II had a similar plot wherein Superman had to confront three other visitors from his home planet. Well, as it had to be they all had similar powers.

In a nutshell, you can be super if you allow yourself to be surrounded by a group of nerds, half-wit, morons who choose to sit around all their lives, warming their chairs and in turn offer you opportunities to get you that super status.

Well, the recipe for success becomes simple then, doesn't it. You need to find yourself a group of a lower inferior life form and dominate it to your taste and liking. Its very much similar in context of the cave men taming animals for domesticating them and using them to their advantage. The catch here is that you should not be a part of the same group yourself.

So all you aspirants who wish to be Super, look around, find yourself a group where you can shine in and grab opportunities which people leave for you. By the way wearing your underpants over your trousers is not such a great idea actually.
